Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

5th March 2012

This evening, whilst on other business, and happening to be in the Bolton / Bury area, Tim Cain MBE, Team Chairman of Swaledale Mountain Rescue Team, visited the team at our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ as part of a wider ‘fact finding’ tour of colleague Mountain Rescue Teams to compare operating methodologies, administrative workings and the management organisation of other MRTs.

Arriving at 19.30hrs Tim was met by our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE, who gave Tim a comprehensive insight into the workings of the Bolton MRT, alongside a tour of our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ and the vehicles and equipment resources we have based on site.

Over Tim’s two hour stay, Garry reports that there was much in common, and many ways each team could learn from the experiences of the other, indeed we have a number of team members attending this years Annual Swaledale MRT joint Training Exercise scheduled for Sunday 25th March 2012.

Tim subsequently contacted Garry to thank him for the ‘Fascinating visit,” adding that other members of Swaledale MRT may be visiting in future.
