Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

8th March 2012

The team are delighted that once again our excellent and incredibly supportive, much appreciated friends in the Westhoughton Rotary Club have nominated Bolton Mountain Rescue Team as one of the charities they have chosen to support through their spectacular fundraising efforts involving supermarket collections, Santa’s sleigh visits to the neighbourhood, and other imaginative means.

This evening at Brookfield, Peel Street, Westhoughton, the Rotary Club of Westhoughton held its annual ‘Evening of Presentations to the Local Community,’including a full course meal for all the charity representatives invited to attend, followed by the charity donation presentations themselves.

The team was represented by very long serving member and current Deputy Team Leader Geoff Seddon and his wife Gillian Seddon.

Geoff and Gill joined representatives of dozens of other local charities who all enjoyed the delicious meal and great company and who were all grateful recipients of the Rotarians’ generosity and charitable fundraising endeavours.

As is the usual format of the evening, each charity representative present gave a short talk about the work of their group. All manner of voluntary groups spoke, with an amazing and humbling diversity in the activities described. All had one thing in common: local people giving of their time freely to help other local people in need.

The whole team membership extends its fullest thanks for the extremely supportive and welcome donation of £180.00 presented to us, and for the excellent evening Geoff and Gill enjoyed as guests of our friends at the Rotary Club of Westhoughton.
