Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

12th April 2012

Today, Team President, Bob Hutchinson and Team Life Vice President, Tony McNally met with Mrs Dorothy Lythgoe, her sons and immediate members of Mrs Lythgoe’s family at the Team’s Ladybridge Hall Headquarters.

A few days earlier Mrs Lythgoe had contacted Tony saying she had a donation for the Team in memory of her late husband, Wilf, who had recently passed away. Mr and Mrs Lythgoe had been keen members of Bolton HF Walking Club and had requested friends and fellow walkers to remember Wilf with donations going to Bolton Mountain Rescue Team.

After a tour of the Team’s base and tea, coffee and cakes in Ladybridge Hall (carpets were being relaid in the Team’s base) Bob and Tony were presented with a £700 donation to help with the Team’s work. Mrs Lythgoe and her family were presented with a comemorative plaque and a similar plaque is to be placed in the Team’s Base as a permanent memorial to Wilf Lythgoe and the kind, thoughtful generousity of Mrs Lythgoe, her family and friends.

The whole of the Bolton Mountain Rescue Team thanks those who have contributed to the memory of Wilf Lythgoe and extends its condolences to those who knew Wilf Lythgoe.
