Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

20th April 2012

This evening the Team played hosts to a visit of the 1st Upholland Scout Group and their leaders.Sixteen Scouts together with their leaders and some family members were welcomed to the Team’s headquarters by Team Life Vice President, Tony McNally whose two grandsons, Ben and Dan Martin were members of the Scout Group.

After the briefest of welcomes it was over to Team Member Mike Marsh, a long serving Team Member and also a keen Scouter himself and Team Member Phil Crook. Mike and Phil gave an enjoyable talk outlining the work of Mountain Rescue and in particular the work and scope of what Bolton Mountain Rescue Team is involved in. The Scouts showed great interest and enthusiasm during the talk but their interest surged when Mike and Phil took the Scouts into our vehicle garage and demonstrated in a hands on way the vast range of specialist equipment the Team carries.

No visit to our base by young people ever goes by without a request to see the blue lights and hear the sirens. The 1st Upholland Scout Group were no exception and Mike and Phil rounded off the evenings visit with a noisy finale.

Mike, Phil and Tony thank the Scouts for the interest they showed in our Team and congratulate them on their behaviour during their visit.
