Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

4th May 2012

This evening, our very valued friend and supporter Jean Mulvaney, of the Victory Stompers Line Dancing Club held yet another fundraising Line Dancing event for the team.

The evening was attended by Support Group members Amanda Strickleton and Sarah Hindle, who both represented the Bolton Mountain Rescue Team.

Held at the usual venue of St Mary’s Parish Centre, Richmond Street, Horwich, this was Jean’s fourth fundraising event for the team.

There was a tombola and raffles with all the proceeds going to support the Bolton Mountain Rescue Team. Previous events organised by Jean have raised the tremendous sum of £1,410.43 – and her continued support is very much appreciated by the entire Bolton MRT membership.

Please see website ‘news’ reports dated Friday 16th April 2010, Tuesday 5th April 2011, Friday 29th April 2011,Friday 2nd December 2011 and Saturday 14th April 2012.

Here follows an acount of the evening from support group member Amanda Strickleton:

“Support Group members Amanda Strickleton and Sarah Hindle had a great evening at the Victory Stompers Line Dancing Club’s charity event, even joining in with one of the dances (luckily no photo!).

Many thanks to the music provider Jenny Wilcock for selecting a very basic number!

Other local line dancing club members attended the evening, all supporting the tombola, raffle and blind auction of a signed cricket shirt and enjoying a potato pie supper.

Everyone spoken to over the evening was very appreciative of the amazing work carried out by Bolton Mountain Rescue Team and were more than happy to continue with their support.

The whole event raised the incredible sum of £545, with a further £50 donated by the Victory Stompers Line Dancing Club’s from its own funds. Jean wanted to express her thanks to Jenny, Pat & Arnold, Jeanette, Elaine, Sandra and Kev & Mags for all their help with this and previous events.

Amanda and Sarah left the hall at 11.15pm, promising to do more dancing next time!”
