Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

20th May 2012

Today 10 Team Callout Members travelled to The Olde England Kiosk in Sunnyhurst Woods, Darwen, for the Kiosks centenary celebrations.

Along with the medieval tents, archery and re-enactment displays was a medieval fancy dress competition, duck race and balloons.

The team took one of its team Landrover ambulance vehicles down to the event (slightly out of place amongst the rest of the medieval paraphernalia!) where a number of the large number of attendees came to have a look at the vehicle, look at the stuff we carry and to sit in the drivers seat. A few of the younger visitors were taken aback when a voice came over the radio. “Hello, I’m a Landrover.” Don’t think they expected a Landrover to have a Bolton accent!

The centenary celebrations were held to raise money for both the (or should that be Ye?) Olde England Kiosk and Bolton Mountain Rescue team. Watch this space where we will report details of the donation.

All at Bolton Mountain Rescue would like to thank The Olde England Kiosk, Sunnyhurst Woods, Darwen and all people who visited the team today.
