Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

17th June 2012

Every year the pupils, some of their parents and the teachers at Belmont Primary School, take part in a sponsored walk, which has raised over the years a huge sum of money for various charities, ourselves included. The route leads from the School up to the Winter Hill summit, then across the moorland past Smithills Shooting Hut to Scout Road, and after dropping down to Horrocks Fold, back to the School via Longworth Clough

Usually we are in a position to ’watch over’ the walk, and meet the children at various stages along the route with our team vehicles.

Unfortunately this year we were not able to provide our usual on scene full team support due to a major team commitment at the Horwich Festival Of Racing, however team call out list member Dave Cook, whose children attend the school, walked the route with all present, being on hand to act as a link should the team be required.

Thankfully apart from sore legs, it all passed without incident.
