Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

2nd July 2012

Further to our previously reported visit of Monday 21st May 2012, and Monday 11th June 2012, this afternoon four members of our proposed Control Vehicle / Incident Command Vehicle project team, set off to meet further with Coleman Milne of Wigan Road, Westhoughton, again organised by Our Project Team Leader Martin Banks.

The four consisted of our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE, Team member Dave Cook, Team Catering Officer Chris Tennant and Project Team Leader Martin Banks.

Coleman Milne manufacture a very wide range of specialist vehicles for the Police and other emergency and public service end users, as well as their more familiar work (At least to local people) of Funeral Hearses and Limousines. Coleman Milne manufactured the Control Vehicle now in service with our colleagues at Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue Team.

Coleman Milne are now our preferred choice to supply and manufacture our new Control Vehicle / Incident Command Vehicle.

Meeting our four members here, were Graham Clow, Area Sales Manager, and his colleague Bill Taylor (‘All things involved in the build process’)
Coleman Milne have secured for the team a very favourable deal with their Volkswagen dealership partners, and following Coleman Milne’s valued advice, and subject to confirmation, our Project team has decided upon a brand new purchase VW Crafter LWB 2.5 Diesel vehicle as the base vehicle for our Control vehicle / Incident Command Vehicle.

Our Control Vehicle / Incident Command Vehicle Project Team will now formulate the detailed specification we require, for Coleman Milne to provide outline designs and costing information for us further to progressing this exciting project.

We currently have an approved operating budget of £55,000.00 to purchase our Control and Incident Command Vehicle which will replace our existing Control Trailer.

Continuing progress on this exciting project for the team will be reported here.
