Today our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE received in the post a letter with an enclosed donation from Sandra and Kevan Worthington of Whelley, Wigan.
The letter stated;
“Dear Mr Rhodes, on the 23rd June 2012, we celebrated our Golden Wedding. We had a ‘bit of do’ in the form of Sunday lunch for our family and friends on the 24th June 2012.”
“We didn’t want any gifts, only from immediate family, so we said if people wished they could make a small donation to our two chosen charities, namely yours (Bolton MRT) and the North West Air Ambulance.”
“Please find enclosed donations totaling £210.00.”
“As keen walkers the West Pennine Moors has been our ‘stomping ground’ for the last forty years, but I hope we never have to call on your services. You do a fantastic job. Best wishes Sandra and Kevan Worthington.”
This is a fantastic and very generous gesture in full support of the Bolton Mountain Rescue Team and we thank all who have contributed to this thoughtful donation to the team in celebration of the Golden Wedding Anniversary of Sandra and Kevan Worthington.
The entire team membership extends its fullest congratulations to Sandra and Kevan Worthington on this wonderful occasion of their Golden Wedding Anniversary.
