Today our Team Life Vice President, Tony McNally, was invited to attend a very special school assembly at Lowton St Mary’s Primary School to be presented with a donation from the school’s Year 5 children.
Each year the classes choose a local or national charity and the through their own efforts and endeavours spend the year raising money to donate to their chosen charities. Bolton Mountain Rescue Team has been chosen by various classes for the past few years and after hearing how the children had raised money Tony was presented with a cheque for £120.00.
Late last summer, on 29th September 2011, Elaine Gilliland , the Team’s Training Officer and Tony visited the school to show the children one of the Team’s vehicles and Elaine gave the children an opportunity to try their skills at CPR. The classes of the school raised a total of over £1000.00 which they donated to their chosen charities.
The whole of the Bolton Mountain Rescue Team express their thanks to the children and staff of Lowton St Mary’s for their generous and kind help.
