Yesterday, Mr Arnold Tyson of Bolton, in a telephone conversation with our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE, informed us he had requested donations in lieu of presents at his recent 80th Birthday, and wished to meet the team to hand over the donations personally.
This evening, just prior to our weekly training session starting, Mr Arnold Tyson visited our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ meeting our Team President Bob Hutchinson.
Mr Tyson kindly handed over two cheque donations totalling £45.00 for the team, received in lieu of presents on his 80th birthday from Mr and Mrs Cull and B.J.M. Steele.
Mr Tyson was then given a short tour of our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ with a particular interest in our new Land Rovers, as Mr Tyson knew the late Miss Ellen Sykes ‘Nellie,’ who made a bequest to the team many years ago enabling us to purchase in 1999, a brand new Land Rover (BM3 named in her honour Miss Ellen Sykes ‘Nellie’) which was sold in 2011, when its replacement Land Rover PX60EAE came in to team service, and carrying on the tradition was similarly named in her honour ; Miss Ellen Sykes ‘Nellie.’
The whole team membership extends belated 80th Happy Birthday wishes to Mr Arnold Tyson, a valued friend and supporter of the team.
We would also like to thank Mr and Mrs Cull and B.J.M. Steele for their very kind and thoughtful donations to the team in lieu of presents to Arnold Tyson on the wonderful occasion of his eightieth birthday.
