At 14:47 this afternoon the team was paged by the Information Assistant at the Great House Barn Information Centre, Rivington, regarding the report of a young boy missing in the area.
The call was immediately answered by our Deputy Team Leader Geoff Seddon, who lives a short distance away from the Information Centre. Geoff made his way to the Information Centre to gather information. It was determined that the boy had become separated from his family somewhere between the Rivington Hall Barn and the Pigeon Tower.
Lancashire Constabulary was also aware of the incident and had begun to deploy Police resources into the area.
As a precaution, the team was put on standby at 14:59, but happily we were not deployed as at 15:20, Geoff was contacted by Greater Manchester Police to report that the child had been found safe.
