Today, whilst in North Wales on a SARDA (Wales) training course weekend, our Mountain Rescue Trailing Search Dog Handler, Steve Nelson, was contacted at circa 11:30 by Oldham MRT regarding his specialist assistance with a search operation in the South East part of Greater Manchester.

Steve Nelson and his SARDA Trailing Dog Boris immediately responded from North Wales, joining GMP resources, Oldham MRT and three SARDA (England) air scenting dog teams in the search for the missing elderly male.

The search was concluded late afternoon.

Whilst engaged on this search, Steve and his specialist trailing dog were also requested via our Team Leader by Bowland Pennine MRT to assist them in a search. His help was subsequently not required.
