Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

4th November 2012

Today saw the conclusion of this years MREW National Mountain Rescue Party Leader Training Course weekend, kindly facilitated this year by Swaledale MRT.
The course held at Wathgill Training Camp, near Catterick, North Yorkshire, attracted trainees from many UK MRTs.

The Bolton MRT sent experienced team member Samantha McKay as a trainee, with our Training Officer Elaine Gilliland, acting as a course instructor, and our Paul Brain lending his considerable ‘IT’ talents to the successful running of the course.

During the course, on Saturday 3rd November, all course members were called out to assist in a major nearby search operation. (See our Incident 77-2012)

Today, Sunday 4th November, Bolton MRT member Mike Marsh, organiser of previous MREW MR Party Leader Training Courses, journeyed to Catterick, to join the course as an ‘exercise casualty’ during the practical sessions.

At the conclusion of todays course, the Bolton MRT would like to congratulate experienced team member Samantha McKay on becoming our newest ‘Party Leader.’
