This morning, in a continuation of the search for Mr John David Rayton, (See previous Incident report, dated Friday 16th November) our Trailing Dog Boris and his handler Steve Nelson, along with our Training Officer Elaine Gilliland once more acting as his navigator, were called back to the search area, receiving their call out at 09.00hrs.
Arriving at the search RVP, they were deployed to the Chatburn area, commencing their search at circa 11.50hrs, along footpaths along the River Ribble.
Once again Rossendale and Pendle MRT and Bowland Pennine MRT were both deployed, alongside ‘fresh’ search assets from Calder Valley SRT and Oldham MRT.
Lancashire Constabulary search assets were also deployed.
The Bolton MRT were requested to be available for possible deployment early on Sunday morning, and arrangements were made to place the team on standby, should the search continue into a further day.
Unfortunately news was received mid day that a member of the public had located the body of Mr Rayton in the Ings End area of Rimington, south west of Gisburn, and a party of searchers had the sad task of recovering Mr Raytons body.
The entire Bolton MRT wishes to express its sincere condolences to the wife and family of Mr John David Rayton at this very sad time, and also gives thanks to the kind comments made thanking all searchers via social media by the family of the late Mr John David Rayton.
