At 15.42hrs this damp and cold afternoon, we were called out by NWAS (Manchester) to assist an Emergency Ambulance crew trying to access a young male casualty with a dislocated knee on school grounds in Great Lever. (St Simon and St Judes Primary School, Newport Road, Great Lever, Bolton)
Three Team Land Rover Mountain Rescue Ambulances (Two were already in area, and one from our Base / HQ) were despatched, alongside co-incidentally team member Dave Cook, who was very close to the location at the time of our pager alert.
Dave arrived on scene first at 15.51hrs, and it was quickly determined that the NWAS crew on scene had managed to find a key holder to locked gates, and could in fact now access the injured youth.
At 15.59hrs our first vehicle arrived on scene, and its two man crew helped Dave and the NWAS crew, stretcher the young male casualty back to the Ambulance, and onward transfer to Royal Bolton Hospital.
The two other responding team Land Rovers were stood down upon arrival on scene, with all our members leaving by 16.15hrs.
In total to assist the NWAS (Manchester) crew on scene, twelve team members responded.
