On Saturday 6th October 2012, for the fourth year running, the team provided standby rescue cover for the Rivington Half Marathon and Marathon event. Organised by 2:09 Events, the race enjoyed its fourth year in Rivington, with the route starting at Rivington & Blackrod School.

In fact the Marathon route part of the event was new to this year, and because of the larger number of entrants and much larger course, this year the team concentrated only on providing standby rescue cover, rather than also undertaking some marshal duties as in previous years.

We are very pleased to announce that following the event, 2:09 Events Limited, have made to the team a very generous donation of £1,000.00.

Next year the Rivington Half Marathon and Marathon event is scheduled for Saturday 5th October 2013, at which the Bolton MRT will for the fifth year running provide Standby Rescue Cover provision.

The whole team membership wishes to extend its grateful thanks to all at 2:09 Events Limited for this much appreciated donation, and their continuing and valued support of the Bolton Mountain Rescue Team.
