Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

5th February 2013

Further to our recent article regarding the progress of the ’production’ of our new Incident Control Vehicle (see website news report of 29th January 2013) this afternoon three members from our Incident Control Vehicle project team, set off to meet with Coleman Milne of Wigan Road, Westhoughton.

The three consisted of our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE, Team Catering Officer Chris Tennant and Incident Control Vehicle Project Team Leader Martin Banks.

During the visit the three reviewed and discussed (on the production line) the excellent on going progress of the conversion of the vehicle, based on VW Crafter LWB 2.5 Diesel van.

We are very pleased with progress to date and are happy to report that the conversion of the vehicle is on schedule. The next milestone will be the delivery and installation of the specialist communications mast due in mid-February, following which the communications and IT equipment will then be installed. It is envisaged that that the build will be complete in early March and we aim to have the vehicle operational in April.
