Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

5th March 2013

This evening experienced Team members Gill Leigh and Mike Marsh, together with Probationary member Michael Eddleston were very pleased to welcome the troop of 6th Horwich Parish Scouts. 8 scouts attended along with 5 leaders. They listened to an introductory talk and asked some interesting questions. Following this they watched a short film about the work of Mountain Rescue Teams across the British Isles.

To support their recent work on first aid they were able to explore the contents of our comprehensive first aid sack and followed this with setting up and carrying the stretcher. Next it was off outside to view the vehicles and ‘play’ with the blue lights and sirens.

At the end of the evening the group presented Team members with a cheque for the magnificent sum of £50, which was raised through the Scouts’ efforts delivering Christmas post. We would like to thank 6th Horwich Scout Group for this very kind and thoughtful donation and hope they had an enjoyable and informative evening.
