We reported yesterday that thieves recently struck by breaking in to team member Paul Chisholm’s vehicle at his home address, and stealing a large quantity of his personal mountaineering equipment from the boot of his vehicle, along with some items of team personally issued equipment.
The theft took place we believe on Saturday evening 2nd March on Stour Road, Astley, Wigan.
Amongst the many items stolen were the following MRT team issue equipment items; a Red coloured Petzl Ecrin climbing helmet, a yellow coloured High Visibility team vest with a back panel distinctively displaying a blue panel stating ‘MOUNTAIN RESCUE,’ a mountain rescue radio case, purple coloured, and a LED Lenser High Performance Line H14 Head Lamp.
Paul lists the personal items stolen as;
Karrimor Rucksack, black and grey coloured, Petzl MYO head torch, Silva Compass, Buffalo 6 jacket, Keela down Jacket, Surefire torch, Emergency shelter 2/3 person, Lifesystems Mountain Leader First aid Kit, North Face Waterproof Pants , Petzl Cordex belay gloves (black), Notebook, whistle, foil thermal blanket and Hi Visibilty Bivouac bag
Obviously Paul and the team is very keen to get these team issue and personal kit items back or to receive any information which would lead to their recovery.
Please contact the Bolton MRT or Greater Manchester Police if you can help with this appeal.
Most of the equipment stolen is of little use unless you are a hillwalker / mountaineer, and certainly the team issue kit items stolen are only of use if you are a mountain rescuer.
Paul and his friends have looked around the immediate area of his house in case the items stolen have been discarded, to no avail at present.
