Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

12th April 2013

We are extremely pleased to announce the wonderful news that New Bury Voluntary Youth Club has pledged to support the Bolton Mountain Rescue Team via a superb ‘Summer Challenge’ event being arranged for this year.

Every year we understand the young people of New Bury Voluntary Youth Club take on a ‘Summer Challenge’. Last year the keen youngsters walked the whole of the Pennine Way raising £1,700.00 for Guide Dogs. The year before in 2011, they climbed the 3 Peaks and then cycled from Bolton to Workington to Whitby and back to Bolton raising £2,725.00 for Bolton Hospice. This year they plan to cycle the coast of Wales over fifteen days staying at Youth Hostels & camp sites on route, with the fantastic news that we in Bolton MRT have been chosen as their beneficiary charity.

The club is open Monday & Friday evenings from 19.00hrs until 21.30hrs and is based at New Bury Community Centre on Buckley Lane Farnworth. This years summer challenge will start at the end of July 2013 when schools have finished and around eight young people will take part. Eddie Birchall runs the club and will lead the young people on this wonderful challenge.

On Monday 20th May 2013, the members of New Bury Voluntary Youth Club have arranged to visit us at our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ for an evening with the team.

The whole team membership wishes to extend its grateful thanks to all at New Bury Voluntary Youth Club, Buckley Lane, Farnworth, for their wonderful kindness in supporting the Bolton MRT in this challenging manner.
