Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

30th April 2013

On Saturday 1st December 2012, the team was honoured to have been invited to attend and provide standby rescue cover and first aid provision for the English Schools’ Athletic Association 32nd Cross Country Cup Final, held at Canon Slade C of E School, Bolton. (See website ‘News’ report dated the same)

This prestigious event hosted by Canon Slade School (Which last staged this event in 2006) saw teams who had qualified through county and regional rounds earlier this term coming together for this national final event.

At the conclusion of the event we were presented by the event organisers with a very kind £160.00 donation.

Today we are very happy to report the receipt of a further very kind £250.00 donation from the organisers, the English Schools’ Athletic Association.

In letter accompanying this latest thoughtful and supportive donation sent to our Life Vice President Tony McNally, the Joint Co-Ordinators of the English Schools’ Athletic Association Cross Country Cup, Mrs O’Donnell of Bolton and Mr John Gwyther of Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, stated;

“Mr McNally,
Thank you for attending the Cup Final at Canon Slade. Please accept this additional donation for the Bolton Mountain Rescue Team. The donation which we sent of £160.00 for your services seemed small against other offers of help (some in four figures!) that it was agreed to send a further contribution to your funds (I am sure that the last few days have depleted your funds!!).
Thank you again, John.”

The whole team membership wishes to extend its fullest thanks to all at the English Schools’ Athletic Association for their appreciated kind support of the team.
