Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

1st May 2013

The Bolton MRT like a great many other UK MRTs has specialist equipment rucksacs and bags made and supplied by Aiguille Alpine Equipemnt of Staveley, Cumbria.

Over the years Aiquille Alpine have made many bespoke items for this team and also supplied off the shelf standard items, from specialist large capacity ‘bum bags,’to equipment container rucksacs to Hi Visibility ‘Mountain Rescue’ Vests to bespoke rucksac covers.

This morning three team members journeyed to Aiquille Alpine to discuss rucksac designs in regards to the team looking at how better to package and carry some of our Trauma Care, Splinting and Medical Gases equipment. (Which in some cases is to look at the replacement of such equipment originally purchased from Aiquille Alpine many years ago now and in need of replacement)

During their visit, Team Equipment Officer (Mediacl) Nigel Booth, Team Equipment Officer (Stretchers, Ropes and Line Rescue) Nick Berry and Team member John Dickinson, were met by Aiquille Alpine’s Director and founder Adrian Moore, who was his usual very helpful self, and has offered practical solutions to our queries.

The team will now look at the options and costings available, with Aiquille Alpine having very kindly offered to make up a trial rucksac for us to investigate as one equipment packaging solution.
