Following an evening request from our colleagues at Bowland Pennine MRT on Thursday 6th June, this morning three Bolton MRT Call Out list members journeyed to the Upholland area of South Lancashire, to join colleagues from Bowland Pennine MRT in a continuing search operation to locate a missing 46 year old male, who had last been seen on Tuesday 28th May 2013, with his disappearance having been reported to Police on Wednesday 5th June.
Following the discovery of a vehicle, a search operation was centred upon the area around a cemetery at Roby Mill, Upholland.
Media appeals by Lancashire Constabulary were also made at this same time.
Bowland Pennine MRT were called out in the early evening of Wednesday, 5th June 2013, alongside Lancashire Constabulary resources, to undertake a search.
With the search continuing this morning, our members involved; Life Vice President Alan James, Alistair Greenough and Naomi Horan, journeyed in the case of Alan and Naomi in our Land Rover BM2 to the search RVP at Roby Mill, setting off from our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ at 08.00hrs.
Meeting up with Bowland Pennine MRT members, and Police resources, the search included the grounds of St Joseph’s College.
All involved in this search operation were stood down at circa 12.00hrs with the news that the missing man had been found safe and well on Ainsdale beach at Southport.
At this same time, one further available Bolton MRT was about to set off to join his colleagues in the search operation.
We understand Bowland Pennine MRT deployed ten team members to this mornings search with more becoming available should the search have continued in to the afternoon.
Bowland Pennine MRT supported this search operation with one of their Land Rover Mountain Rescue Ambulance vehicles, and their Control Vehicle.
