Readers of our website may recall that on the morning of Wednesday 20th February 2013, long serving team member Diane Blakeley attended the Rotary Club of Bolton’s Daybreak meeting.
During her visit Diane had the great pleasure of accepting the Rotary Club of Bolton Daybreak Community Service Award on behalf of Bolton Mountain Rescue Team.
This award is presented each year in recognition of service provided to others.
Diane was presented by the Rotary Club of Bolton Daybreak President, Peter Jones, with a beautiful Rose Bowl (Representing the actual Community Service Award) which we now have the pleasure of displaying in our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ.
We also received a certificate and a wonderful very kind and generous donation of £250.00.
Today we have the pleasure of announcing yet another very kind and thoughtful donation from our highly valued friends at the Rotary Club of Bolton Daybreak, this time of a truly fantastic £400.00.
In a letter to our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE, accompanying this very supportive donation, The Treasurer of the Rotary Club of Bolton Daybreak, Mike Parker, stated;
“On behalf of President Peter I enclose a donation for Bolton Mountain Rescue Team.”
“Please pass thanks again to Diane who visited the club earlier this year and also to Ged Clarke (Bolton MRT) who was a colleague of mine some years ago.”
“Ged visited us several years ago ! Yours sincerely, Mike Parker.”
Yet again we in Bolton MRT find ourselves in the enviable and very happy position of expressing our sincere thanks to all the members of the Rotary Club of Bolton Daybreak, for this fantastic recognition of our work and their continued support. It is planned that in the Autumn they will come to visit our base to see more about the work we do.
