This Sunday will see Bolton Mountain Rescue Team hosting a joint exercise involving our friends and colleagues in teams from the Association of Lowland Search and Rescue, Mountain Rescue England and Wales, and a specialist medical and extrication team.
Organised by very experienced Bolton MRT team member Gyles Denn, and with catering assistance being provided by the fantastic members of our Support Group, the all day exercise will commence with all participants meeting at our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ at 09.30hrs on Sunday morning, 14th July 2013.
All the teams resources will be involved in this exercise, and all elements of search and rescue incidents will be practised, including command and control, radio communications, casualty care, incident scene safety, evacuation, incident logistics and navigation, not forgetting the importance of catering provision.
Joining us will be Staffordshire Search and Rescue, North East Wales Search and Rescue Team and AirRescue 24 (Including two of their Doctors and Firefighters from Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service)
All attending will be formed into three ‘teams’ comprised of a mix of members from all taking part, and will each be presented with three incident scenario’s to work through the day, all co-ordinated from our brand new Incident Control Vehicle.
Valued team friend, photographer Carl Silver will be attending to record events as they take place (As he so kindly does on our Annual Joint Foundation course every October)
The exercise will take place in the Cadshaw area at the northern end of Turton and Entwistle Reservoir and on the moorland to the west of the Charters Moss area, and is scheduled to complete by mid to late afternoon.
Keep watching our website for a forth coming fully detailed news report on this exercise.
