Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

2nd August 2013

Today our Team Secretary, Gillian Gregory, received the latest news from Bernadette Tither at New Bury Community Learning Centre regarding the youth club members’ Summer Challenge 2013 – Welsh Coast Cycle Ride – the team set off to the start point at Cardiff as planned on Saturday 27th July and latest news from their leader, Eddie Birchall, is that all is going well. They had a problem with one of the bikes, which they took into a branch of Halfords who kindly did a repair totally free of charge for them – thank you, Halfords, for this kind and supportive gesture.

The cyclists are undertaking this challenge to raise funds for Bolton Mountain Rescue Team and we are closely following their progress and wish them the very best of luck for the rest of the trip, due to end at Chester on Friday 9th August. BMRT Land Rovers will then meet them to escort them into New Bury Estate.

Our photograph shows the challengers: Macauley Farrington, Taylor Aylett, Matty Brown, Declan Hobson, Charlie Potter, Eddie Birchall and Andy Nicholls, with their support vehicle, ready to set off for Cardiff on 27th July 2013.
