Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

22nd August 2013

This afternoon, between 14.00 and 15.00hrs, our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE met with GMFRS Watch Commander Chris Rainford of GMFRS Operations Support (Fire Service HQ) at GMFRS Bolton Central Community Fire Station.

The meeting was very productive and clearly opened the pathway to greater operational liaison and mutual working between mountain rescue and GMFRS within Greater Manchester, including of course Bolton MRT.

Watch Commander Chris Rainford will be visiting the Bolton MRT at our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ in September, at the invitation of our Team Leader, to gain an even greater insight in to the SAR equipment resources we have and utilise, and to discuss further areas where MRTs and the Bolton MRT may provide assistance to GMFRS on operational incident responses.

The Bolton MRT places great emphasis on meetings of this nature with the Fire Services, and likewise with NWAS and the Police forces we operate alongside, in order to further our relationships and mutual understanding of how we can all work together for the benefit of our communities and those who may require our joint help.
