On Monday 13th August 2012, we reported within the news section of our website that we were able at the time to confirm (Sadly) the identity of the deceased male we recovered from Cox Green Quarry, Egerton, late on the evening of Friday 10th August 2012 and into the early hours of Saturday 11th August 2012. (Please see Incident 56-2012 dated the same)
As was widely reported in the media at the time, the deceased persons identity was the late Edward Sutton, aged 53 years, who went missing from his Cloister Drive, Darwen home on Saturday afternoon, 28th July 2012 in circumstances giving Police concern for his well being.
On Monday 30th July 2012, as part of the on going at the time investigation into the disappearance of Edward Sutton, the Bolton MRT had been tasked with the searching of some areas of land in the Leverhulme Park area of Bolton. (Please see Incident 54-2012 Monday 30th July 2012)
Today we can report upon the receipt of a very thoughtful and kind donation from Capita Symonds in Blackburn, of £184.85p in the memory of the late Mr Edward Sutton.
In a letter to our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE from Melanie Hartley, Office Manager of Capita Symonds, Blackburn, Melanie states;
“On behalf of the staff at Capita Symonds in Blackburn, please find enclosed a donation of £184.85p.”
“This was raised in memory of our colleague, Ed Sutton, who sadly passed away in August 2012. Ed had worked for Capita Symonds for 12 years in our Highways Department and was a well liked member of the team.”
“We would like to extend our thanks to your team for the help they provided at the time, and hope this donation goes some way to helping provide ongoing assistance to others.”
“Yours faithfully,
Melanie Hartley,
Office Manager,
Capita Symonds.”
All in the Bolton Mountain Rescue Team would like to extend their thanks to all at Capita Symonds who knew Ed (Edward) Sutton, for so thoughtfully remembering the memory of their former work colleague in this kind and generous way.
