Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

21st December 2013

Bolton CVS, utilising charitable donations made at the Bolton Law Society’s 2013 ‘Late Summer Ball’ was able recently to offer six grants of £100.00 each to local community groups in December 2013, subject to those groups making a successful application for such.

A great many voluntary organisations in Bolton were invited to apply for these grants.

The concept was simple – applicants were asked to tell the judging panel what their organisation could do with £100.00 during the winter of 2013/14.

The £100.00 could be for any purpose so long as it would make a positive difference to the lives of people in Bolton.

Members of the Bolton Law Society made up the panel which sat to choose six of the many applications received to successfully receive a grant.

We applied to receive a grant to support purchases of equipment for use in winter conditions, including snow shovels and space blankets.

Our Team Treasurer, Martin Banks, who applied on behalf of the team was pleased to receive today a cheque for £100.00 from CVS, this is a great Christmas gift to the team and this kind grant will help the team support the community of Bolton and the wider community we serve during this winter.

The whole team membership extends its sincere thanks to all at Bolton CVS for supporting us in this manner and to Bolton Law Society for providing the funding to make these six grants available.
