Today our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE received the following kind email from Stuart Jones, the climber who suffered a serious injury at Cadshaw Castle Rocks last Sunday, 2nd February, our Incident 18. (Please see website ‘News’ report dated the same)
“Hi Bolton MRT.”
“I just wanted to send a quick note to say thank you to all involved in my rescue on Sunday afternoon at Cadshaw Castle Rocks. It was an incredible relief to see your 4×4 arrive on the scene and I’m especially grateful to Garry, Dave, Matthew and John for getting their feet wet with me in the very cold brook.”
“The ambulance took me to Royal Blackburn Hospital and confirmed my shoulder dislocation, gave me lots more drugs, and then preformed a reduction to relocate the humerus into its socket.”
“It looks like I won’t be climbing again for a while, but I’ve got lots of physio to look forward to over the coming months!”
“Thanks again to everyone involved, it’s great to know there’s someone willing to help when you really need it.”
“All the best, Stuart Jones.”
Stuart also attached an x ray of his injury (Webmaster – Ouch)
Those team members involved in this serious incident all wish Stuart a speedy recovery and a return as soon as possible back to rock climbing again.
