On Saturday 15th February 2014 we reported the Teams first Collection Day of 2014 at Tesco, Walkden.

Team Support Group members Gillian Gregory (Our Team Secretary) Sarah Hindle, Andrew Hitchon, Andrew Keyworth, Gary Melia, Dave Rees, Lee Grice and Laura Tunnicliffe all kindly attended, managing to collect an amazing £262.89p.

We would like to thank the kind support of all the shoppers at the Tesco Store, The Ellesmere Shopping Centre, Walkden, Worsley, who donated their change in support of the team.

We also extend our thanks to the Stores Community Champion Elaine Fox, for allowing us permission to hold a collection day at the store.

Many of our founder team members actually came from the Walkden and Worsley areas, including founder Team member and current Life Vice President Alan James, Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE, and our Deputy Team Leader Geoff Seddon.

With a lot of open countryside around the Walkden and Worsley areas, the team over the years has carried out many searches and rescues in this lowland area, including missing children and vulnerable adults, injured mountain bikers, horse riders and children injured on rope swings.
