At 10.26hrs this morning, Greater Manchester Police contacted the team by pager, with a request for assistance to continue the search operation of yesterday, for a missing 31 year old male from Eccles.

Again the call was answered by our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE, who liaised with GMP Officers to determine the search requirements for this element of the search operation.

At 10.44hrs a full team pager call out was made, with our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE contacting Rossendale and Pendle MRT for their assistance, and our Deputy Team Leader Chris Greenhalgh, contacting Cheshire SAR Team for their assistance.

From circa 13.30hrs onwards, Bolton MRT, Cheshire SART and then RPMRT members assembled at the RVP for today’s search operation, within Botany Bay Wood, on Worsley Moss, Worsley.

Commencing at 14.45hrs, a major search of Botany Bay Wood was undertaken, alongside some outlying areas, involving MRT/ SART and Police Officers.

Later in the early evening a Mountain Rescue Air Scenting Search Dog Team, Handler Ellie Sherwin, Search Dog Pepper and Navigator Simon Adams, all from Calder Valley SRT also joined the search operation.

Local landowners, workers, and Farmers also assisted, particularly with local knowledge and access issues.

Search control was provided by both Bolton MRT and Cheshire SART via their respective Incident Control Vehicles, whilst catering support for all attending was provided by our team.

As the evening drew on, Cheshire SART members withdrew to journey back to their team area for their Annual General Meeting.

By 21.00hrs all tasked search areas had been completed, with the man still missing and no clues as to his whereabouts after two days of intensive searching having been located.

At 21.45hrs our last members left the search RVP, and again as with yesterday with this aspect of the search concluded, GMP enquiries continued, alongside social and public media appeals.
