Today BMRT team members Ken Oakes and Mark Scott attended a charity evening at the Bolton Links Golf Club. Bolton Mountain Rescue had been chosen once again to be one of the club’s nominated charities and this decision was followed by a kind invitation to attend the charity evening at the club’s premises on Chorley Old Road, Horwich.
Each of the five chosen charities made a presentation about their work to the committee members present: the President, Lady President, Captain, Treasurer and other members.
During the presentations Ken and Mark’s pagers went off simultaneously, interrupting the meeting with news of a callout, but fortunately it was soon determined that the incident had been passed onto our colleagues at Rossendale & Pendle MRT to deal with.
There followed a formal cheque presentation to all five charities and Ken and Mark were delighted to accept the very generous donation of £700 from the club. This continued support from the club is hugely appreciated and is unquestionably generous, so Bolton Mountain Rescue would like to thank the club once again for their generosity and hospitality.
