This evening the team welcomed a group of visitors to our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ from our long standing friends and supporters at The Rotary Club of Darwen.
The eight Rotarians who attended, representing all their colleagues at the Darwen Rotary Club, were met by Team Call Out list members Dave Cook (Our Equipment Officer – Water) and John Dickinson, who are both members of our integral ‘water’ team.
Team member Dave Cook then showed our visitors the team’s DVD, outlining the history and current operations of the Bolton MRT.
Our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE then attended the evening visit, primarily to personally thank the Rotarians of the Rotary Club of Darwen for their fantastic and very much appreciated support of the Bolton MRT over a great many years.
At this point, Rotarian Gil Riley, Secretary of the Rotary Club of Darwen, very kindly presented to Garry, Dave and John, a very generous donation of £250.00 to the Bolton Mountain Rescue Team.
The Rotarians were then entertained further by Dave and John, with a look at our two Land Rover Mountain Rescue Ambulance vehicles garaged at our Ladybridge hall Base / HQ and the multiplicity of search and rescue equipment on board each vehicle.
The team membership would like to thank all the Rotarians of Darwen Rotary Club for their very generous donation of £250.00 this evening, and for their appreciated continuing support of the Bolton Mountain Rescue Team.
As usual, this year we will be providing Standby Rescue Cover for the Rotary Club of Darwen, Tower Trudge 2014 Charity fundraising walk, over the moorlands of Darwen Moor and taking in the woodlands of Roddleworth and Tockholes, which is scheduled this year for Sunday 1st June 2014.
