Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

12th April 2014

This morning a small number of Team Call Out list members including Alistair Greenough, Samantha McKay, Phil Horner, Diane Blakeley, Paul Copley and Gill Leigh, met at our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ to journey up to the Langdale Valley in our Team Minibus ‘Bolton Mobile 5,’ for a team member social mountaineering day.

They were accompanied by Gill’s daughter Megan and son Robert who currently lives in Ambleside, studying an Outdoor Pursuits Degree, along with former Bolton MRT team member Gyles Denn and his wife Alison.

The route for this hill day was the famous and popular scramble Jacks Rake from Great Langdale via Stickle Tarn.

Alistair reported “The weather was absolutely atrocious which made it even more fun! Once we topped out on Jacks Rake we navigated off via Dungeon Ghyll returning to the car park.

All in all a splendid mountain day in good company, pity the weather didn’t follow the weather forecast because a soon as we returned to car park the sun came out and blue skies appeared – typical!”
