We are very pleased to report the receipt of a wonderful £500.00 donation from the Police and Crime Commissioner for Lancashire / Lancashire Constabulary.
This very kind donation has been made to recognise the vital work of mountain rescue teams operating in Lancashire, with a £500.00 donation being made to each of the three Mountain Rescue Teams operating in Lancashire, including ourselves, Bowland Pennine MRT and Rossendale and Pendle MRT.
Mr Grunshaw, Lancashire County Police and Crime Commissioner recently praised the work of all three MRTs in Lancashire, stating;
“Lancashire MRTs are made up entirely of volunteers, yet the work they do is both invaluable and essential.
There are many occasions when their expertise is called upon to save lives, and they work closely with Police Officers in high-risk scenarios ranging from the safe evacuation of casualties to searching for missing people.”
The total donation of £1,500.00 to ourselves, BPMRT and RPMRT has come from funding taken from the proceeds of Crime Equalities reserve.
We would like to acknowledge the support of Administration Officer Alayne Anderson and Inspector Neil Sherry both of Lancashire Constabulary Civil Contingencies Unit, in facilitating the award of this donation to us and our colleagues in BPMRT and RPMRT.
We would also like to thank Lancashire Police Authority Finance Department.
We have utilised this kind donation against our recent November 2013 purchase of four new Ferno Scoop 65 EXL Stretchers, from SP Services (UK) Limited, which were purchased to equip each of our four Land Rover Defender Mountain Rescue Ambulance vehicles.
(A donation from Mr Michael Newman, Worshipful Master, New Trinity Lodge 4595 of £610.00 was also utilised against the purchase of these items of equipment)
