The following statement has been published this afternoon on the website of Greater Manchester Police;

“Police are no longer searching for a woman missing from Salford.

Kerry Bailey, 36, was last seen at her Worsley home on Wednesday.

Today, Sunday 25 May 2014, a body was found off Higher Green Lane in Astley, Wigan.

There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances and a file will be prepared for the coroner.

Detective Inspector Alan Clitherow, said: “We have spent several days making every effort to find Kerry safe and well, sadly a body has been found today and although we await formal identification we do believe it is her.

Our thoughts and condolences are with her family and friends at this deeply upsetting time.”
