Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

1st June 2014

At the conclusion of today’s standby rescue cover for the Rotary Club of Darwen, Darwen Tower Trudge, the five participating team vehicles and eleven on board team members remained in the team’s moorland area.

At 15.14hrs our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE was contacted directly by NWAS (Lancashire) EOC Air Despatcher, for the team’s assistance with an incident on the Trans Pennine Trail, close to Bradley Lane at Stretford, Manchester, where the North West Air Ambulance had landed but required assistance in evacuating the casualty to the aircraft.

From their various locations in the team area, all five team vehicles – four Land Rovers and our Incident Control Vehicle, commenced a response drive, but some six minutes later we were stood down as no longer being required.

This request for the team’s assistance is recorded here for our readers interest and information, and does not feature in our Incidents listings.
