Coming so soon after the recent death of Oldham MRT stalwart member Jim Duffy (see website ‘news’ reports dated Friday 6th June 2014 and Monday 16th June 2014) is more sad news from our colleagues at Oldham MRT, as reported today on their Facebook site;

“It is with deep sadness that the team has to announce the passing of Jacquie Howell, the teams volunteer bulletin Editor, who passed on Friday after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Jacquie’s first bulletin (Webmaster; the newsletter of Oldham MRT) was in March 2011 and even though she was fighting her own personal battles she still volunteered to help the team.

A selfless and gentle lady who inspired many in the team.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Jacquie’s family and loved ones at this impossible time.”

Many of our members enjoy reading Oldham MRTs ‘Bulletin,’ and we extend our condolences on the loss of such a kind helper, again from within the closeness of the mountain rescue community.
