Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

25th June 2014

Today our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE received an email detailing thanks regards our involvement and that of our colleagues at GMP, SARDA, Rossendale and Pendle MRT and Cheshire SART regards the successful search we were involved in on Saturday 21st June 2014, for a missing man in the Walkden area of Worsley, Manchester.

From GMP PC Andy Parry, Police Search Advisor, Specialist Search Unit;

“Garry, could you please disseminate to all your members and the other teams involved the below comment, along with my thanks for the wonderful turn out that no doubt saved a life.”

From GMP Inspector Steve Bailey, Integrated Neighbourhood Policing Team 1 (Little Hulton, Walkden, Worsley, Ellenbrook and Boothstown) Salford Division;

“Yesterday I had a phone call from the sister and mother of this MFH (Webmaster; Missing from Home)
The man was found on Saturday in a field off Moss Lane, Walkden.

He was in a very poor state of health and the Doctor treating him stated he would probably have succumbed to his condition had he not been found at the time.

The family were immensely impressed with the Police response to his disappearance and they have asked me to pass on their sincere thanks for all those in looking for him and effectively saving his life.”
