At 15.30hrs this afternoon, the services of our specialist Mountain Rescue Trailing Dog Handler Steve Nelson and his Trailing Search Dog Boris were requested via his parent organisation, SARDA Wales and North Wales Police, to assist with a developing search in Llandudno, North Wales, for a missing 49 year old man from the Llandudno area, the subject of a North Wales Police missing search enquiry and public appeal, since his disappearance on the morning of Friday 27th June 2014.
Steve departed at 15.45hrs for the journey to North Wales with colleague Bolton MRT team member Elaine Gilliland, in her usual role of assisting Steve on operational incidents with navigation and other help.
Arriving in Llandudno late afternoon, they were deployed on the search at circa 17.15hrs, finishing their tasking at circa 19.45hrs, following which a debrief took place.
We understand resources from Ogwen Valley MRO, Search Managers from SARDA Wales, Maritime Coastguard Agency personnel and North Wales Police also took place on this search operation.
Whilst still in North Wales, at circa 21.30hrs, Steve and Elaine with Boris were contacted for a search tasking by Bowland Pennine MRT at a search incident in Silverdale, Lancashire. (Please see Incident 66)
