We are very pleased to announce the receipt of a kind Card Of Thanks, from Mr Niall Love, the 50 year old male casualty who suffered a mountain bike accident on the evening of Friday 6th June 2014 at Clifton Country Park, Swinton. (Please see website ‘News’ report dated the same)
The card ‘A Million and One Thanks’ was delivered to our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ, in it Niall kindly states in shaky hand writing;
“To Bolton Mountain Rescue.
On the 6th June your dedicated team gave up their valuable freetime on a Friday evening to come and rescue me after a mountain bike accident in Clifton Country Park.
I would like to say a very big thank you to you all for all your sheer dedication and hard work.
You are all priceless and wonderful people.
I am now entering my 3rd week in Salford Hospital but making amazing progress, so much so I no longer have to go to Southport SIA.
In the last week I have progressed from getting out of bed and in to a chair to now walking with crutches and learning to do things again like writing : ) (Hence the shaky handwriting)
I am so lucky that through your hard work that I am able to do this as things could have been so different.
My injuries are spinal cord syndrome, degenerative changes C5 – C6.
Thank you all so much, Niall Love.
No operations so far too.”
The entire team membership wishes Niall all the very best with his continuing recovery, and we all hope it is not too soon away when Niall will be back out on his mountain bike again.
