Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

23rd July 2014

On Saturday 28th June 2014, our Mountain Rescue Trailing Search Dog Handler Steve Nelson and his Bolton MRT colleague, navigator Elaine Gilliland, alongside of course Boris, were involved in a search in the Llandudno area of North Wales for a missing 49 years old male (Please see website ‘News’ report Incident 65 dated the same)

We are pleased to announce the receipt recently of an email from Huw Birrell, N.W.M.R.A. Regional Search Advisor, to Keith Gillies MPSRO Chairman, regarding this incident, extracts of which are as follows ;

Keith, I write to you in your role as Chair of the Region. (webmaster; MPSRO)

A fortnight ago we had a search for a vulnerable person in Llandudno.

On a busy Saturday evening Steve, tracked from the last known point in a circuitous route through Llandudno Town and out to a point on the Great Orme.

At this moment in time the Police have not traced this person.

Steve and Elaine were a credit to  the Mountain Rescue community in their attitude, skills and knowledge and we would like to place on record the appreciation we have both from Ogwen Valley MRT whose search it was, myself as Regional Search Advisor and the North Wales Police who I spoke to last week.

Could you please cascade this to whoever you think as we cannot shout their praises high enough.

We hope to see them back in our region soon.

Huw, N.W.M.R.A. Regional Search Advisor
