At 12.20hrs early this afternoon, the team received a SARCALL request for the services of our specialist Trailing Search Dog, from Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue Team.
Our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE initially liaised at 12.23hrs with his colleague Team Leader Kev Camplin of Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue Team as to the nature of the incident, which involved a missing male in the vicinity of Garstang.
Shortly afterwards our Mountain Rescue Trailing Search Dog Handler Steve Nelson (a member of SARDA Wales) deployed from his work place to collect Trailing Search Dog Boris and attend the search RVP, jointly with Bolton MRT team member Elaine Gilliland who acts as Steve’s navigator on searches of this kind.(Elaine is also a member of SARDA Wales)
Steve, Elaine and of course Boris, all joined in a developing search operation involving Lancashire Constabulary Officers, and members of Bowland Pennine MRT.
Shortly after their deployment on a ‘trail,’ the missing male was located alive by Lancashire Constabulary Officers and by circa 15.30hrs the search was stood down, with Steve, Elaine and Boris all returning home shortly afterwards.
