Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

21st September 2014

On the evening of Tuesday 16th September 2014, we hosted at our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ, a visit from Deane Church Ladies Guild.

Team members present to meet the Ladies Guild were Mike Marsh (One of our four Call Out contacts) Diane Blakeley, Kris Kilshaw, Mark Scott and Michael Wakerley.

The following is a report on their visit by team member Diane Blakeley ;

“On 29th April 2014 we were involved on a missing from home search where control was based outside Deane Church (also known as St Mary’s). The Deane Church Ladies Guild were arriving for their meeting and kindly offered any help we may require, following which they requested a visit to find out more about our work.

This evening their visit took place, with very experienced Bolton MRT call out list members Diane Blakeley, Mark Scott and Mike Marsh welcoming 15 ladies (and one interested husband) from Deane Church Ladies Guild to our Ladybridge Hall Base. They were also joined later by team members Kris Kilshaw and Michael Wakerley.

The evening started with a presentation from Diane explaining about the work the team does, its history and some of our recent call outs. This was followed by the “Bolton MRT” film. After a number of questions from the group were answered by Mike and Diane they all headed downstairs where Mark explained and demonstrated some of the rescue and medical equipment we use including the Trauma Sac, casualty bag and vacuum mattress. He also showed the group our Bolton Mobile 3 Land Rover mountain Rescue Ambulance.

We would like to thank all the members of Deane Church Ladies Guild for their interest and support and their kind donation of £20 which is greatly appreciated. A thank you also goes to the lady who made a personal £20 donation towards the teams work.”
