On Thursday 23rd October 2014, very long serving team member (since 1969 !) and immediate past Deputy Team Leader, Geoff Seddon, of Lever Park Avenue, Horwich, received in the post the following ;
“Dear Mr Seddon, as promised I enclose a cheque to the value of £534.75p to further your work with the Bolton Mountain Rescue Team.
Please acknowledge to Horwich Conservative Club.
Yours sincerely Mrs M Pallant.”
Geoff Seddon explains how this extremely kind donation from Horwich Conservative Club came about ;
“This has been donated from the winding up of the Horwich Conservative Club Bingo events.
It was decided to split the money between Bolton MRT and the Air Ambulance to benefit both charities.
Mrs Pallant taught my daughter Felicity Seddon at Chorley New Road Primary School, Horwich, and Horwich Conservative Club Committee was therefore (and as a result of seeing mountain rescue Land Rovers outside my house) that I was a member of the team.
Contact was initially made in person and subsequently by phone, following which I received this kind donation.”
The entire team membership would like to take this opportunity express its sincere thanks to all at Horwich Conservative Club for this very kind and supportive large donation, which is very much appreciated.
