Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

5th November 2014

Happy Birthday wishes are expressed to our friends at NPAS (National Police Air Service) Warton, callsign NPAS 23, who started off many years ago as the Lancashire Constabulary Air Support Unit, call sign Oscar November 99.

They first went live with a Twin Squirrel helicopter on 21st November 1994, and have been based ever since at the now named BAE Systems Warton Aerodrome, Lancashire.

Our records do not indicate any direct liaison incidents with Lancashire Constabulary ASU in 1994, but out of a total of 31 recorded incidents attended by the Bolton MRT in 1995, three were incidents directly working with the Lancashire Constabulary ASU helicopter, two of these three actually involved the aircraft airlifting our casualty.

Here’s to the next twenty years.
