This afternoon our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE and Team member Steve O’Hara, attended the bi annual Bolton Voluntary Agencies Forum; Civil Contingencies meeting, held at Bolton Town Hall, co-ordinated and facilitated by Bolton MBC Civil Contingencies Unit.

Attending today were representatives from GMFRS , Bolton CVS, North West 4×4 Response, Bolton MBC Civil Contingencies Unit, Voluntary Aid Groups and Faith based organisations, Bolton MRT, Raynet, Hindu forum, Bolton NHS Foundation Trust, GMP Counter Terrorism Unit (Security Advisor) and Bolton Council of Mosques, with apologies from other groups and organisations who would normally attend.

Agenda items included the up and coming Counter Terrorism Awareness Week, Bolton MBC’s new Emergency Control Centre, the success of the recent ‘Get Ready for Winter’ event, and joint exercise opportunities amongst other discussion topics.

The next scheduled meeting of this group will be in the New Year, with an exact date still to be determined.
