Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

17th November 2014

Regular readers of our website may recall that on Thursday 31st July 2014 we announced that Councillor Richard Silvester, the Town Mayor of Horwich, had kindly chosen Bolton Mountain Rescue Team as one of his charities to support for his year in Office, which commenced on 15th May 2014.

On Tuesday 9th September 2014, we were very pleased to lend our full support and to publicise via our website, Twitter feed and Facebook, that the Town Mayor of Horwich was holding a Charity ‘World Zombie Day’ Dinner on Saturday evening, 11th October, at Bengal Cottage, Lee Lane, Horwich, in aid of Bolton Mountain Rescue Team.

Diners were invited to get dressed up as a Zombie, Spook, Ghost or Ghoul and have a fun evening including a special Zombie Curry and Zombie cocktails.

On Saturday 15th November 2014, our Team Secretary received the following fantastic news via email from the Town Mayor of Horwich, Councillor Richard Silvester;

“Hi there,

If you remember, I had a fundraising World Zombie Day Charity Dinner on Saturday 11th October in aid of Bolton Mountain Rescue Team (one of my Mayoral Charities this year).

I would like to present you with a donation from this event.

Could a representative come to Horwich Public Hall on Lee Lane for say 7pm this Thursday – 20th November to the Council Chamber, 1st floor as I can present the cheque before our Town Council meeting which starts at 7.15pm.

If you can let me know. I will then send to local papers to publish.

Many thanks, Richard.

Cllr. Richard Silvester, Town Mayor of Horwich,”

Our Team Secretary Gillian Gregory will be attending as invited, to represent the team, and accept this wonderful donation to Bolton Mountain Rescue Team.

Keep watching our website for a report on this donation presentation evening.
